One of my favorite quotes of all time is from Woody Allen, and goes something like this;
“More than at any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.” - Woody Allen
If that were true, then we would all be in trouble. Luckily, it is funnier than it is true, though it can sure seem that way some days. Also luckily, we don’t have to choose negativity. We can choose optimism. As an Optimist your gratefully accepted challenge is to find a positive in any circumstances. Optimism as a philosophy is a positive and uplifting creed. As an optimist you can affect the entire world with your attitude and actions. To be an optimist is to make the free choice, today, to make the world a better place to be for yourself and those around you. My recommendation is to take on the philosophy of optimism simply because it is the best thing to do for yourself. To be gloomy all the time gets you nowhere. To feel optimism is to feel you can accomplish something. That you can change things around you for the positive and help the world. The love you feel for the world can be expressed through your service to it and to mankind in general. I challenge all to take on some kind of service, whether it be simple humble service or large, grandiose service doesn’t matter. Helping your fellow human beings can be noble, uplifting and can positively affect your own life. Keep a smile on your face and remain optimistic. It can’t hurt, and it certainly can help.
